Fabienne In-Albon

Fabienne In-Albon was born on September 5, 1986 in Zug, Switzerland. She started playing golf when she was 10 years old. By the age of 15 she knew that being a playing professional is what she wanted to be.

Fabienne In-Albon attended the Swiss Olympic Sports School in Davos (Switzerland) in order to combine studies and sport. Her highlights during her 5 years in Davos included being eight times Swiss Champion (1999-2005), 2nd at the European Junior Championship (2004), 7th at the Orange Bowl (Junior World Championship, 2004), 3rd Doral Publix Junior Classic (2004), 3rd at the International Amateur Championships (2005) as well as winning the Order of Merit in Switzerland 3 years in a row (2003-2005).

After high school, Fabienne In-Albon went to Purdue University (America) with a full golf scholarship.

But instead of improving her game, she struggled and found it hard to adjust to the fact that golf was suddenly a team sport instead of an individual sport. She returned to Switzerland where two back injuries stopped her from playing for two years. After recovering she moved to Sydney, Australia in order to slowly start getting back into the game again. For two and a half years she studied Sports Management at the International College of Management in Sydney, and played most of the Amateur Tournaments around the country. The main highlight on the other side of the world was finishing runner-up at the NSW State Championship which was her first big tournament back.

Fabienne In-Albon graduated with a Bachelor Degree in 2011 and returned to Switzerland and turned Pro in 2012. She played two years on the LET Access Tour (feeder tour for the Ladies European Tour). In 2013, she won her first tournament as a Professional, had two more Top 10 finishes and ended the year 5th in the Order of Merit which gave her the full card (full playing rights) for the Ladies European Tour (LET) 2014.

In her first year on the LET she could already celebrate first successes. With a 2nd place at the Hero Women’s Indian Open and an 8th place at the South African Women’s Open she finished 50th on the Order of Merit and therefore kept the full tour card for the LET 2015, which she has not given away until the end of her career.

A great childhood dream of Fabienne In-Albon came true in the summer of 2016 when she qualified for the Olympic Summer Games in Rio.

„The Olympic Games is the biggest event for an athlete, something I have always dreamed of since I was a little girl. Having done it is simply indescribable and a big dream come true“.

Unfortunately, further setbacks were added and the forces dwindled. She had not lost her strength in fighting back and forth, but she had to admit that she was no longer able to give 150%, which she always expected from herself and what it takes to be consistently at the top. Therefore, she retired from professional sports the end of 2017.

After retiring from top-level sports, she decided to start coaching. She will assist athletes, as well as business people in the mental, physical, lifestyle and management sectors. Her services vary from individual coaching, workshops and presentations, as well as corporate events. Fabienne is convinced that the experience and the knowledge she has acquired as an athlete, together with her bachelor’s degree in sports management and further training in the area of life coaching, result in an optimal combination to push boundaries and thus go the “extra mile”.
