Johannes Schweifer

The potential of blockchain Technology, what can we expect in the future?

Born in 1977 in Austria, Johannes Schweifer spent his middle-school years in a catholic boarding house to pave the way for a carreer as priest. Nonetheless he chose a different path and decided to study chemical engineering in 1995 at the Technical University in Vienna, He graduated with a phd in the field of Theoretical Chemistry in 2007.

Seeking new challenges he started a career in IT and worked as consultant for a german company, which sent him crossways through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. After six years and countless flight miles he was promoted to managing consultant and was responsible for two teams, one in Germany and one in Switzerland.

The potential of the upcoming new blockchain-technology fascinated him. In 2013 he founded the first Bitcoin trading company of Switzerland together with a former colleague. The company was successful and prospered, even against a harsh headwind from banks and despite the existing regulatory uncertainties of the early years. In 2016 he founded his next startup BlockLogix, which focuses on the integration of blockchain-technology and the spreading of KnowHow. In the near future more of his projects will mature in Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

The presentation depicts in a colorful way, which technical challenges exactly are tackled by the blockchain, and why the solution works so smoothly. Furthermore it explains why the solution is sought after but feared at the same time.
