Dr. Daniel Stelter is a macro economist and strategy consultant. As author of numerous expert articles and current non-fiction books, he provides an unbiased view of the economic and financial policy issues of our time.

Dr. Daniel Stelter is founder of the Forum „beyond the obvious“, which specializes in strategy and macroeconomics. He is an expert on economic and financial crises and advises international companies and investors on the challenges of constantly changing global markets.

From 1990 to 2013, he was a management consultant with the international strategy consultancy The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), most recently as Senior Partner, Managing Director and Member of the BCG Executive Committee. From 2003 to 2011 Stelter was responsible for the worldwide business of BCG’s Corporate Development Practice Group (strategy and corporate finance).

After studying economics at the University of St.Gallen (1984 – 1988), he received his doctorate under Fredmund Malik with his dissertation on „Deflationary Depression: Consequences for Management“. Today, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung ranks him 40th in its 2019 economist ranking, ranking him among the 100 leading economists in Germany with the greatest influence on media, politics and business.

Stelter is a sought-after expert in the media and at congresses, who brushes against common trends with an unconventional view of opinion. With his expertise he often sets counterpoints in talk shows such as hartaberfair, Lanz or the phoenix runde. TV stations such as WeLT or SAT.1 use his ability to get to the heart of complex issues in current news formats. He regularly publishes as a guest author in major business media such as manager magazin, Cicero, FOCUS and the Globalist.

As an independent voice in the ongoing financial and euro crisis, Stelter has also established himself as the author of several non-fiction books with an unbiased view and great clarity.
